What to wear to…Summer weddings!
Summer wedding season is in full swing! And once again, we've turned to wedding style guru Abby Larson of Style Me Pretty to get her picks on what to wear.
Abby says:
My most fabulous friend has this amazing ability to upstage every girl no matter where she goes. She even upstaged me at my own wedding by ROCKING the most fabulous little Oscar de La Renta dress you've ever seen in your life. And while I never condone upstaging the bride, I have to admit, I was secretly thrilled that I had such a cool friend. I literally still get emails about her dress from Style Me Pretty readers.
Well, as it turns out, it's not all that hard to be a show-stoppingly gorgeous wedding guest. Here are a few ideas for taking your summer nuptial style to an entirely new level.
Be fabulous. Who says you have to wear flirty sundresses in the summer? Throw caution to the wind and wear something like this little gold number. Pair it with simple studs and a great pair of black heels and you will definitely do a bit of showstopping. This look is perfect for an evening affair where you just know the bride is as glam as they get.

Go for casual elegance. A flowy dress that hits above the knee like this pretty piece by Susana Monaco is perfect paired with all gold accessories. A glitzy cocktail ring and a pair of super-chic heels complete the look. It's kind of an updated boho style and one that is perfect for just about any affair, be it casual and outdoor or more sophisticated.

Be budget fabulous. During any given wedding season, you can easily fork over thousands to look your fabulous self. Well, these days, it's pretty easy to look great on a budget, so consider putting your money into pieces that you can really mix and match. A little black dress, a great pair of stilettos, a fun pair of gold earrings, a fabulous but versatile clutch. Every piece can be dressed up or dressed down so that you have something perfect for each of your many weddings.

And although it's pretty easy to be an incredibly chic wedding guest, with any set of Do's comes a basic set of Dont's:
- Don’t wear white, off white, pale yellow, pale peach or any shade that might be reserved for the bride. Major faux pas.
- Don't show too much cleavage.
- Don't wear denim. Or insanely bright colors, tight dresses, or casual fabrics.
- Try to stay away from frocks that might be mistaken for bridesmaids dresses. Otherwise you might get stuck fetching the bride champagne or helping the wedding planner rearrange the seating chart.
